State PBA History
The New Jersey State PBA has grown to over 30, 000
Municipal, County State and Federal Law enforcement Members. The PBA has over
350 locals across the state of New Jersey. The New Jersey State Policeman’s
Benevolent Association, Inc was established in 1896, the members of the
Paterson Police Department realized the need for a Benevolent and Protective
Association and formed the committee among themselves. They were instrumental
in bringing about the organization of the Police Benevolent Association.
Local PBA #239:
PBA #239 charter was granted on September 11, 1973.
Holmdel PBA #239 is more than just a labor union for police officers; the PBA
is very active in the community, raising money for various charities in the
area, donating monies to families with hardships, slain police officers, and
our local schools. Every month at our local meeting money is donated to a
sick child in the town, or a family displaced by a fire or other
catastrophes.
Telephone Solicitations:
PBA #239 does not utilize telephone solicitors.
If you donate to a telephone solicitor the money is not going to your local
police department. If you have any questions pertaining to telephone
solicitations, please contact Detective Thomas Foley, President
tfoley@holmdelpolice.org or Ptl. Jeff Todd, State Delegate at
